New retail business plans to spice up downtown Sacramento

A locally-owned spice shop that won a retail business-plan competition has secured a location and is expected to open early next year.

Entrepreneur Heather Wong will open her specialty grocery store at 1125 11th Street, a space that previously housed a Merle Norman Cosmetics store. It’s located near Chops restaurant in downtown Sacramento.

Wong didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment, but a Facebook page for the store confirms its address. Wong won this year’s Calling All Dreamers retail…
