Big need in the community as thousands line up for turkeys at Sacramento Food Bank

KCRA 3’s annual Turkey Drive benefiting the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services was a big success, and those less fortunate lined up to receive the Thanksgiving food Monday morning.

Thanks to the donations of hundreds of generous people, the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services was able to hand out more than 11,000 turkeys and all the extra fixings.

Some people started camping out as early as 2 p.m. Sunday, but hundreds more were in line by 5 a.m. Monday.
