Light rail station near Golden 1 Center could close

Round-the-clock work continues on the Golden 1 Center, but Regional Transit officials want to get rid of one stop close to the new downtown Sacramento arena.

Light rail riders will have a chance Tuesday to get information on plans to shut down the busy station.

Regional Transit officials told KCRA 3 the main reason they want to close the busy station at 7th and K streets is because stopped trains may block the east exit from the arena, trapping large crowds of people while the trains load and unload passengers.
