Should state allow beer tasting at farmers markets? Governor will decide

In an action that could bring swift resolution to this pressing first-world problem, Gov. Jerry Brown is poised to decide whether you can sample beer at the farmer’s market.

Legislation pending before the governor would permit breweries to offer beer tastings at farmers markets that are located in a nearby county.

California’s craft beer industry is exploding, with sales last year over $6 billion and the number of in-state breweries jumping by nearly a quarter in one year to 519.
