Davis food tech company can sell genetically modified safflower product as feed
Arcadia Biosciences Inc. said Tuesday it has won approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to sell a byproduct of its genetically modified safflower product as livestock feed.
The approval opens up a potentially large market of cattle and poultry producers for the Davis-based food technology company. It also “improves the overall production economics of GLA safflower oil,” CEO Eric Rey said in a news release.
