Suspicious fire at historic Governor’s Mansion on H Street

Cal Fire officials are investigating a suspicious fire at Governor’s Mansion in downtown Sacramento. A California State Park ranger discovered debris on a hand cart that had caught fire with several exploded butane and propane canisters nearby. The fire damaged the mansion’s exterior paint but not the structure.

The governor’s mansion, at 1526 H Street, was built in 1877 and  has been closed since January 1 for renovations.
