New “pop-up” dog park at University Park near Howe Avenue

In a bit of news that’s almost exciting as a bacon-flavored rawhide, PetSmart Inc. has partnered with the city of Sacramento for a new pop-up dog park. The temporary park is open at 1900 University Ave., which is at the south end of University Park. It covers more than 9,000 square feet and includes fencing, clean-up stations and three moveable benches, according to PetSmart. The new park, officially dubbed the PetSmart P.U.P. Small Dog Park, is open to dogs that weigh fewer than 25 pounds, according…
